Ultra 3502 Electric Tongue Jack

Ultra 3502 Electric Tongue Jack
Ultra 3502 Electric Tongue Jack
Mfg Part Number: 38-944017

I have just purchased a new tongue jack, can I install this my self?

Yes, the installation process is very easy. Basically we are removing the existing tongue jack and replacing it with your new electric jack. It is internally grounded, so it is a simple bolt on, and a one wire connection to the positive post of the battery. Listed below are the specific steps for the install along with operating instructions.

1) Chock the wheels of the trailer and support the tongue of the trailer. (Hint; if you have your trailer connected to the truck, you have your trailer secure, no chocking or locking will be required, the down side is that you have limited the area that you’re working in)

2) Remove the existing jack. (Save the original nuts and bolts for the new install.)

3) The electric tongue jack is grounded internally. So make sure that you will have good continuity between the mounting plate of the jack and the trailer frame.

4) Install the tongue jack using the original nuts and bolts.

5) Align the motor head so that the motor housing is facing the front of the “A” frame

6) Install the inline fuse holder. It can be installed by crimping or soldering. Most installations have the fuse holder on the battery end, with enough extra wire that the fuse link can be stored in the battery box.(The fuse link comes in a loop. This will need to be cut and connected to the power cable. We do not install this link because, different installs require different lengths, we provide an abundance of cable and let you choose where and how to install.)

7) Connect the wire with the fuse link directly to the positive side of the battery. (This makes the final connection; the motor is grounded through the frame connection.) (You should be operational at this point.)
